Well, that's that. *dusts off hands* Now that that's taken care of, I have some news. I am going to be having a contest and sI want tosee how the whole idea works out.

This contest is fairly simple: Imagine the idea of a giant windchime. I want to see what all of you on the DA can come up with. Requirements of design are as follows:

1. Candidate must be at least 10 feet, or 3 meters, tall.
2. Candidates must be functional in design. This meansthat, as much as I would love to try it out someday, I can't build something that can't be built with basic tools. Capiche?
3. The candidate must be designed to create sounds/tones using wind movement of fixtures or using the wind itself as an instrument, of sorts.
4. Candidate can either be percussion style (such as hanging fixtures that make sounds by bumping and hitting eachother, ie. tubular bells), or wind style (like how you make sound when you blow over the top of a bottle, ie. pipes, tubular organ).
5. It would be best if the candidate would be designed to be built of metal pipes and bars, but in the long run, anything goes.

Ill try to put up some designs of my own that might be good as examples, but creativity and imagination are the best models! Now, as for the winner...I can garauntee that the winner will see their candidate fully constructed, along with pictures of the process, and (hoping that there will be some windy days ahead) a recording of how their design turned out. Now, depending on how things go, and how expenses here run, there will probably be a 1-Year subscription involved- I'll let you all know as soon as I have more details.
